Zuan Yuan 'Dim Sum Galore' @ One World Hotel

Located at Ground Floor of One World Hotel. Can be accessed from 1Utama Shopping Complex via entrance near the Johnny's Restaurant. Zuan Yuan Restaurant is a Halal restaurant.

In their menu, they had divided the items into Emperor's Set and Empress's Set. However, the only differences in both sets is the soup.

Although it is a buffet, the soup and the noodle dish are an 'One-time' item which means each person can only order the item once, depending on which set you choose.

The 'One-Time' Menu Item

Top Left - Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Crab Meat
Frankly, it taste just like any other Shark's Fin Soup. Well, at least they were generous with the crab meat.

Bottom Left - Water Prawn Noodles
The sauce has plenty of flavour but not too overwhelming. We will be able to enjoy the crunchy noodles and the fresh water prawn. A 'Must Try' dish!

Right - Steamed Seafood Dumpling with Superior Stock and Shark's Fin
A big steamed dumpling that contains scallops, shark's fin, mushrooms, and chicken. The soup was really easy to drink and it goes well with the seafood dumpling. A 'Must Try' dish!

Steamed Dim Sums
From Left to Right:
Steamed Prawn Dumpling, Zuan Yuan Style Steamed Siew Mai with Flying Fish Roe, Steamed Shark Fin Dumpling, Steamed Minced Squid Ball with Dried Octopus and Crab Stick, Steamed Scallop Dumpling, Steamed Glutinous Siew Mai.

Most of them are delicious. Some dishes that I find interesting were the Steam Minced Squid Ball with Dried Octopus and Crab Stick and the Steamed Glutinous Siew Mai.
The minced squid ball has a really interesting texture as they actually mince the squid ball, dried octopus and crab stick and rolled into a ball.
On the other hand, the 'bite-size' Glutinous Siew Mai is really something that you don't see in normal restaurants as the glutinous rice is stuffed into a 'Siew Mai' shell.

Fried and Baked Dim Sums

Baked -  Flaky Barbecue Char Siew Pastries, Oven-Baked Cheese Tart, Oven-baked Mini Egg Tarts with caramel and cinnamon, Taro Dumpling Wu Kok Style with Scallop and Miso sauce.

Fried -  Deep-fried Sesame Ball with peanut paste, Bean Curd Roll, Deep-fried Prawn Dumpling and salad dressing

The ones I really like was the Sesame Ball. The outer layer was really crispy and the amount of filling was just right.
The Char Siew pastries are also worth mentioning as it had a really flaky pastry and the filling was really delicious.
The Taro Dumplings were also something different as it had a scallop and miso sauce filling inside instead of the normal char siew inside.

On the other hand, I didn't really enjoy the Prawn Dumpling as the batter was so thick that i could barely taste any prawns at all..

Other Dishes

Top - Barbecue Char Siew 'Chee Cheong Fun' with sesame seeds
Nothing much. Just like any average 'Chee Cheong Fun'. There is another choice of scallops 'Chee Cheong Fun'.
Bottom - Stir-Fried Turnip Cake with XO Sauce
Same. Taste like any average Stir Fried Turnip Cake. Quite spicy so if you can't eat spicy, ask for less spicy.

 Desserts

Top - Chilled Aloe Vera infused with Lemon Grass
Sweet and very easy to drink. The Aloe-Vera is in 'Jelly-Form' and has a nice lemon grass fragrant.

Bottom - Double-Boiled Crystal Pear with Fresh Ginseng
Some people might not like this dessert as it has a strong bitter taste from the ginseng. The pear was nice to eat as it has absorbed the ginseng taste. Not recommended to people that are not used to the ginseng smell.

The Dim Sum Galore is available at a price of RM48++ per person and 1Utama One Card Member are entitled to the 'Buy 4 Free 1' throughout the promotional period.
