Tea Time @ Mill Wheel Ice Cafe, Kepong

Mill Wheel Ice Cafe specializes in serving various types of flavoured ice shavings and they also serves some hot food such as Ramen and side platters. There are also some interesting menu items such as French Frice (Ice cream made into shape of french fries), cold dog (Ice cream on a hotdog bun), and cold burger (burger buns with ice cream patty in between).

Other than that, there is a small gifts corner that displays various items that are quite interesting and nice which are up for sale. The seating inside the cafe is a little cramped but still quite comfortable.

Matcha Snow - Green Tea Ice Shavings with Red Beans (Left)
  1. Price - RM4.90 (The portion is considerably big for one person so the price is quite reasonable)
  2. Taste - Strong flavour of the green tea. The red beans complemented the bittersweet taste of green tea.
  3. Overall - It is recommended to people who are fond of green tea ice cream. A dessert full of flavour at a reasonable price.
Mint/Milk Tea - Mint Ice Shavings & Milk Tea Ice Shavings. (Right)
  1. Price - RM6.90 (The portion is exactly the same as the Matcha Snow above but it is a bit more expensive because there are 2 flavours. Price is reasonably cheap for this desert.)
  2. Taste - Strong mint flavour that completely overcomes the milk tea flavour. The coco krispies and nuts on top was a nice touch to the soft texture of the ice shavings.
  3. Overall - The mint ice is really nice by itself but the milk tea ice is quite bland. Mint lovers will like it but I will suggest that you should try a different combination for the mint ice instead.
Thirty - Chocolate Ice and Strawberry Ice coated with strawberry jam, koko crunch cereals, coco krispies and chocolate chips. (Seriously, the desert name is called thirty.)
  1. Price - RM9.90 (It's really cheap as the portion is really big and it can be shared with 3-4 people)
  2. Taste - Chocolate ice has a mild taste but when eaten together with the koko crunch cereals, coco krispies and chocolate chips, it has plenty of chocolate taste that is not overpowering. Similar to the chocolate ice, the strawberry ice has a mild taste too but it complements with the strawberry jam which gives a sweet/sour taste of the strawberry.
  3. Overall - It is a classic combination between chocolate and strawberry flavours and the taste is well-balance between these two flavours. The toppings add a nice crunchy texture to the soft ice. The price is definitely worth it. It is definitely recommended. This dessert also comes in other flavour combinations such as green tea, milk tea, watermelon, mango and so on.
